Nordea Asset Management furthers its focus on ESG solutions
LUXEMBOURG, LU — Nordea Asset Management (NAM) has announced it will merge the Nordea 1 – European Value Fund (BP-EUR LU0064319337; BI-EUR LU0229519557) into the Nordea 1 – European Stars Equity Fund (BP-EUR LU1706106447; BI-EUR LU1706108732) with effect from October 9, 2020.
This fund merger builds on the success of NAM’s STARS ESG fund range and emphasises NAM’s commitment to Responsible Investing. “The merger reflects our commitment to be a leader in ESG and sustainable investing and our ambition to offer an expanded range of strategies that truly integrate ESG in their investment process,” says Eric Pedersen, head of NAM’s Responsible Investment team.
The STARS family stands at the forefront of NAM’s ESG offering: all STARS funds aim to beat the benchmark, invest in companies that meet Nordea’s ESG standards and create a lasting impact through active ownership. The STARS represent NAM’s distinct ESG integration approach supported by our award-winning Responsible Investment team.
Our commitment to ESG is not new and is deeply rooted in our Nordic DNA and anchored in our corporate culture, philosophy and business model. While today close to one third of NAM’s assets are managed in ESG strategies, we continue to expand our ESG-enhanced offering: inaugurated in 2011, the STARS family now consists of 16 investment strategies in both equity and fixed income.
